For parents, carers & teachers

The Conkerbury Detectives Club is a puzzle book for children aged 8 to 12. This page is for grown-ups.

THE BOOK

Thirty short detective cases set in a British village: conker contests, bake sales, the fete, bonfire night and the panto. Children read the clues, cross out suspects and work out the one answer that fits.

Every case is checked by a computer program to make sure it has exactly one correct answer, and every clue is fair. The crimes are all gentle: missing conkers, swapped cakes, vanished trophies. No violence and nothing frightening.

The answers and hints are in the back of the book. This website is an optional extra.

The Conkerbury Detectives: The Case of the Missing Conker Champion by Inspector Cuthbert Conkerworth is coming soon in paperback and on Kindle. About the book.

About the author: Inspector Cuthbert Conkerworth has never lost a conker match, a case or a pencil sharpener. He lives somewhere near Conkerbury with a magnifying glass, a very tidy notebook and a deerstalker that is only slightly too big.
